NHAI has awarded a ₹1,734 crore contract to M/s KNR Constructions Limited for the four-laning of the 80 km Gudebellur–Mahabubnagar section of NH-167 in Telangana. Developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) as part of the Hyderabad–Panaji Economic Corridor, the project aims to eliminate chronic traffic bottlenecks in densely populated towns like Makthal and Devarkadra while significantly enhancing road safety and freight efficiency.
The extensive infrastructure plan includes 41 bridges, 260 culverts, 33 underpasses, and over 100 km of service and slip roads. Beyond local transit, the upgrade is a strategic boost for PM Gati Shakti, linking multiple economic and logistics nodes with Hyderabad’s pharmaceutical clusters and SEZs. By connecting major hubs like Raichur and Narayanpet, the project will serve as a vital artery for industrial growth and tourism across the region.
