India C-ITS project aims to improve highway safety and connected mobility through AI-powered traffic monitoring near New Delhi. Kapsch TrafficCom and Superwave Communication And Infrasolution (SCAIL) are leading the smart highway initiative to improve traffic management through real-time connectivity and AI-powered traffic monitoring.
The system will send drivers alerts about roadworks, congestion, stopped vehicles, hazardous zones, and temporary traffic signs through the Kapsch TrafficAssist app. AI-enabled video sensors will monitor traffic conditions and detect safety-critical events in real time. The India C-ITS project, expected to finish within six months, will also train Indian engineers in AI traffic analytics and connected vehicle technology.
