Rajasthan has expanded its AI-powered Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) across the Shahjahanpur–Ajmer, Bar–Jodhpur, and Sikar–Bikaner highway corridors to strengthen road safety and traffic enforcement. Developed with Vehant Technologies, the AI traffic monitoring system uses ANPR cameras, radar sensors, speed enforcement systems, and real-time analytics to detect overspeeding vehicles, wrong-lane driving, mobile phone use while driving, helmet and seatbelt violations, triple riding, and restricted lane usage by heavy vehicles.
The highway traffic monitoring solution has been deployed across 44 locations covering 129 traffic lanes in Rajasthan. The AI-based ITMS can instantly generate e-challans for traffic violations, monitor congestion, track unsafe driving behaviour, and support faster emergency response during accidents or vehicle breakdowns through district-level real-time monitoring control rooms.
The Rajasthan Government aims to improve highway safety, traffic discipline, operational efficiency, and smoother travel for daily commuters and long-distance travellers through AI-powered traffic enforcement and intelligent mobility infrastructure.
