The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has launched a Rs 1.43 crore project to install smart solar LED street lighting systems across its jurisdiction as part of its sustainable urban infrastructure initiative.
The project includes the installation of 190 Type-A integrated solar LED streetlights and 15 high-capacity Type-B systems for major roads and high-traffic areas. The smart lighting network will feature solar-powered LED luminaires, LiFePO4 battery backup, adaptive energy management and remote IoT-based monitoring.
A GIS-enabled asset intelligence platform will allow real-time monitoring of energy consumption, battery health and operational status of each streetlight. Officials said the initiative is expected to improve energy efficiency, public safety and maintenance response while supporting smart city development.
The selected agency will also set up a dedicated service centre within CMC limits and provide web and mobile dashboards for asset mapping, fault alerts, energy analytics and maintenance management.
