The Government introduced the FASTag Annual Pass for private cars, jeeps and vans on August 15, 2025. Priced at ₹3,075 for 2026–27, the pass allows travel through National Highway and National Expressway fee plazas for one year or 200 crossings, whichever comes first. By June 2026, more than 77 lakh passes had been issued, recording 63 crore transactions and accounting for around 33% of FASTag transactions by eligible vehicles.
More than 98% of National Highway toll collection now takes place through the National Electronic Toll Collection programme, with secure processing through toll systems, banks and NPCI. Users can report incorrect toll deductions through NHAI’s 24×7 helpline 1033, the RajmargYatra App, issuer bank helplines or falsededuction@ihmcl.com
While expert committees have recommended further deliberation on GPS-based tolling due to security, privacy and operational concerns, the Government is advancing Multi-Lane Free Flow tolling using FASTag, ANPR technology and AI analytics. The barrierless system allows vehicles to cross toll plazas without stopping. Of 17 awarded locations, Choryasi, Mundka, Gharaunda, Manoharpura and Daulatpura are already operational.
