Srinagar is adopting an AI driven traffic management system to modernize urban governance and address congestion where road expansion is limited by geography. Centered around a Command and Control Centre, the project uses intelligent signals and CCTV to dynamically adjust traffic flow, similar to systems in Bengaluru.

DIG Traffic Range Kashmir Haseeb ul Rehman stated that this shift reduces manual regulation, allowing police to focus on stricter enforcement.

Alongside these upgrades, authorities are cracking down on stunt biking and underage driving, warning parents that they face legal consequences for allowing minors to drive. The initiative marks a significant transition toward technology led discipline and improved road safety.
