The Andhra Pradesh government has launched a statewide urban road safety and traffic management programme across all 123 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to improve commuter safety, smart urban mobility and traffic discipline.
Following directions from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the urban infrastructure initiative will introduce standardised lane markings, zebra crossings, kerb painting and scientific traffic signages on municipal roads to strengthen road safety management.
The smart traffic management project will prioritise arterial roads, busy junctions, schools, hospitals and high traffic corridors, with geo tagged monitoring and implementation aligned with IRC road safety norms.
