New approach for lane discipline

Lane DisciplineInstead of fining heavy motor vehicle (HMV) drivers for not following lane discipline on Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the Highway Safety Patrol (HSP) will stop vehicles at safe locations and educate the drivers about the risks involved in driving in the first lane. HMVs on the Expressway must ply in the third lane. The lane cutting fine was increased to Rs 1,200 from Rs 200, but officials felt the penalty was not working.
