Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation Limited plans to launch a fleet of nearly 2,500 electric vehicles (EVs) for government departments. The project will begin with Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). Officials want to replace diesel vehicles, simplify EV procurement, and promote green mobility in the city.
The corporation will partner with private EV operators and manufacturers under a lease-based model. Departments will receive vehicles directly from the fleet. The project also supports Madhya Pradesh’s EV policy. In addition, officials will set up around 70 modern charging stations across Bhopal to improve EV infrastructure.
