For the first time, Haryana to Launch Driverless Pod Taxi

The Haryana government is collaborating with Suzuki Motor Corporation and Glydways to introduce an automated, driverless pod taxi system in its urban centers. Initiated by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, this “future-ready” project aims to provide on-demand transit through a public-private partnership. The high-tech pods are designed to alleviate traffic congestion, shorten travel times, and reduce carbon emissions across key urban routes.

Currently in the early planning stages, officials are evaluating corridor designs and funding via the central government’s Urban Challenge Fund. By integrating this energy-efficient, autonomous mobility service, Haryana intends to modernize its infrastructure and provide a sustainable solution for daily commuters. Continued discussions with technical experts will now guide the project’s specific timelines and route selection.
