The Missing Link on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway will be inaugurated on May 1, with limited access opening late that night and full public use from May 2. Initially, only light motor vehicles and passenger buses will be allowed till October 31, while goods vehicles remain restricted, with a review planned from November.
Speed limits are set at 100 kmph for cars and 80 kmph for buses, especially across tunnel sections, while hazardous vehicles are permanently barred. There will be no toll hike. The link is expected to cut travel time, improve safety, and ease congestion by bypassing the accident-prone ghat stretch.
