New Vadodara bus terminal is model for other states

The new is being highlighted as a model for other state road transport undertakings to follow. In a workshop titled ‘Infrastructural development in state road transport undertakings through PPP model: experience and way forward’ held in Vadodara recently, officials from five state road transport corporations including Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Delhi visited the city and the bus depot. The bus depot has been regarded as a successful PPP model in terms of its size, amenities and provisions of concession agreement signed with developer. The number of visitors has increased to nearly 80,000 from the earlier 35,000 visitors, with the depot handling 1,568 trips every day.
