MoRTH identifies 44 Economic Corridors under Bharatmala project

A comprehensive and scientific study of traffic flow across the country was recently conducted by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The study identified 44 economic corridors of aggregate length of 26,200 for expansion or development under Bharatmala Pariyojana project. Under the Phase-I of the project, 9000km of economic corridors will be developed to carry high volume of traffic.

NHAI is in the process of awarding thirty consultancy packages for preparation of DPR for 9,300km roads included in Bharatmala Pariyojana comprising economic corridors, inter corridor, feeder routes, international connectivity and coastal roads.
