Cricketers to promote road safety campaign in Delhi

Delhi’s Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Satyendra Garg has roped in the 1983 cricket World Cup heroes to spread awareness on road safety in Delhi. Kapil Dev, Bishen Singh Bedi, Kirti Azad and Maninder Singh will now stand at traffic intersections along with traffic policemen and encourage people to adopt safer practices while driving or walking on roads. They will also hand booklets on road safety to the motorists. Most often, the exercise will be visible on frenzied intersections like Delhi Gate, Sunder Nagar, Tilak Marg and Laxmi Nagar. During the drive which will be carried out for a few weeks, mobile safety vans too will be kept readily available at the intersections.
