Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd has introduced a new pick-up Genio as a next generation commercial vehicle which it hope will redefine the pick-up industry in India. Targeted at the small and medium business transportation industry, it is being produced at the company’s modern plant at Chakan near Pune and is the plant’s second product. The plant will produce a total of 2000 Genios per month. The Genio is targeted at small and medium businesses and comes with international looks, style and design. Its diesel engine packs 75hp of power and a torque of 220 Nm which gives it an ability to handle heavy loads and difficult terrain. The Genio comes in two versions which conform to the emission standards BS3 and BS4.
