Road Safety
Road safety is a national priority in India, with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) targeting a 50% reduction in road fatalities by 2030. This section tracks the technology, infrastructure and policy interventions driving that goal. We cover NHAI's road safety audits, accident black-spot remediation, intelligent speed enforcement, automatic number plate recognition for traffic enforcement, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), helmet and seatbelt awareness campaigns, road geometry improvements, vulnerable road user protection, and the latest data from the Stockholm Declaration and the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety. Expect coverage of state-level road safety initiatives, technology providers serving the safety equipment market, traffic enforcement camera deployments, and interviews with road safety experts driving evidence-based interventions on India's national highways and urban roads.
