Urvinder Pal Singh Madan, a 1983 batch IAS officer, has been appointed MMRDA?s Metropolitan Commissioner. He was earlier the Vice Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the Maharashtra Airport Development Company. Madan has already worked with MMRDA as the Project Director, Mumbai Urban Transport Project, for three years and as the Project Manager with Mumbai Transformation Support Unit (MTSU), also for three years. He was also earlier Deputy Secretary and Director with the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra. He has a Masters in Development and Project Planning from Bradford University, UK.
