The National Highways Authority of India has issued Letters of Award for the six lane access controlled Capital Region Ring Road project in Bhubaneswar. The 111 km greenfield corridor will connect Rameshwar and Tangi in Odisha and will be developed in three packages under the Hybrid Annuity Model.
Package I has been awarded to Patel Infrastructure Limited for the 40 km stretch from Rameshwar to Bilipada, including service roads, two interchanges, one railway overbridge, 10 minor bridges, 142 culverts, a wayside amenity and several underpasses.
Package II has been awarded to VRC Constructions (India) Limited for the 30 km Bilipada–Gobindpur stretch, which includes service roads, three interchanges, 11 minor bridges, 90 culverts, a wayside amenity and several underpasses.
Package III has been awarded to HG Infra Engineering Limited for the 40 km stretch from Gobindpur to Tangi near Bandola Toll Plaza, including service roads, one interchange, 23 minor bridges, 69 culverts and wayside amenities.
The corridor has been designed for a speed of 100 kmph and is expected to be completed in about 30 months. The project aims to reduce congestion in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Khordha while improving regional connectivity and logistics efficiency.
