National Highway projects

In an initiative to enhance seamless connectivity between Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 12 National Highway projects with a total length of 105 km in Kasargod recently. This initiative holds the promise of reducing overall transportation costs and eliminating black spots on National Highways leading to expected decrease in road accidents.

The Minister also laid the foundation stone of nine NH projects in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. These include upgradation work of road from Gulganj Bypass to Barna River, 2-lane road from Barna to Ken rivers, 2-lane paved shoulder from Shahdol to Sagartola, Lalitpur-Sagar. The upgradation aims to save time and fuel area development. Fifteen NH projects got started in Bhopal as well. Widening of the Ayodhya bypass section will help passengers traveling from Kanpur to Bhopal experience less traffic jams.
