The foundation stone of the city surveillance and traffic management system project in Mohali was laid by the local government official recently. The project was aimed at curbing traffic violations, hooliganism, illegal activities and other crimes especially against women by maintaining a centralised monitoring system on 18 busy junctions. The city surveillance and traffic management system would cover 18 locations on city roads with over 400 cameras, besides two speed detectors on Airport Road. A CCC room would monitor the feed of four types of cameras.
