Lucknow-Sitapur Expressway opened partially

The 76km long, four-lane dual carriage Lucknow-Sitapur Expressway was partially opened in October this year. This was announced by the infrastructure player DSC Limited. The expressway is expected to reduce the travel time between Lucknow and Sitapur by half. National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) had awarded the construction to DSC Ltd in 2005 under the PPP model.

The stretch that became operational is of 50km. The entire Expressway is expected to be opened by the end of this year. The BOT project has a concession period of 20 years during which time, DSC will recoup its investment by collecting a toll plaza use fee.
