Pune police at the newly integrated control room in Shivajinagar, can now monitor live feeds and record footage from 450 CCTV cameras of the Pune Smart City from Sinhagad, enabling quicker response times and better traffic management. Instead of relying on overhead cables which can be damaged during the rains or tree-falling incidents, the agency decided to connect both the control rooms with underground cables. For this purpose, they used the dark fibre network which was a cost-effective solution. Additionally, they have also secured the feed of over 3000 cameras of the Pune Metro and have covered all the roads in the city.
