The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) and Visakhapatnam city traffic police plans to install an automated traffic signalling system at selected junctions in the city.
The locations include Madurawada, Hanumanthawaka Junction, Maddilapalem, Satyam Junction, Gurudwara Junction, Thatichetlapalem, NAD Junction, Gajuwaka, Kurmannapalem and Lankelapalem.
The system, part of the Command and Control Centre (CCC) project, will monitor the city. The ITMS will be installed across the 45-km stretch between Madhurawada and Lankelapalem on National Highway-16. The cost of each system is yet to be estimated
