Vijay Chhibber has been appointed Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. He replaces A K Upadhyay who retired recently. Chhibber is an IAS officer of 1978 batch and belongs to the Manipur-Tripura Cadre. He is on central deputation and was holding the charge of Secretary, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare from 10.09.2012 to 31.1.2013. He had earlier been Special Secretary & FA Ministry of Road Transport and Highways & Ministry of Shipping. Chhibber is an alumni of St. Stephens College, Delhi University.
