Memrandun — India and Finland sign memorandumIndia’s Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Kamal Nath and Finland’s Minister of Transport, Anu Vehviläinen recently signed a memorandum of cooperation in Road Transport at Helsinki, Finland.

Now road transport and road construction officials and experts of both the countries will share information in the areas of planning and information management system for road administration, construction operation and maintenance of highways and roads, forms of private investments for public private partnership for construction and upgradation of roads including procedure for competitive bidding, supervision and implementation, intelligent transportation systems, road traffic safety, intermodal transportation and transportation to meet the special needs of the disabled.

The two countries have also formed an Indo-Finnish Joint Working Group (JWG) that will focus on promoting institutional cooperation.
