The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is strengthening highway safety alongside rapid infrastructure expansion by deploying Truck Mounted Attenuators across National Highways. These impact-absorbing systems protect maintenance workers and road users by reducing collision force and preventing severe accidents in work zones. Equipped with high-intensity wig-wag warning lights, they improve visibility during night and low-visibility conditions. Across nine highway projects in Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, 33 TMAs and 15 towable units have been deployed, aligning with global safety standards like MASH TL-3 and NCHRP 350.
