Road Safety book released in Bangalore

MG Diagnostics and Imaging Centre released a book on road safety as a part of the Road Safety 2012 campaign. The book contains information on precautions motorists should take while driving and useful advice on topics such as buying helmets. Speaking on the occasion, the city additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) for Traffic and Security Dr MA Saleem reportedly requested hospitals around the city to provide prompt attention to accident and trauma victims without waiting for police formalities so that the victims could get life-saving treatment within the golden hour. He also requested the public to give way to ambulances on the road. He also reportedly revealed plans to make the city more pedestrian friendly by installing skywalks equipped with escalators at 34 major locations.
