Reward for local Traffic Policemen

Unsung Heroes at Traffic Signals, an initiative designed to encourage constables to make roads safer for citizens, recently invited active public participation through sharing stories and voting in Bengaluru. The contest conducted by the World Peacekeepers Movement, the Political Action Committee (B-PAC) and the Bangalore Traffic Police Department, aimed at honouring 25 traffic police constables in the city. M.N.B.R. Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), said that the purpose of honouring constables and head constables was to ensure that people in the lower ranks who man traffic at junctions braving the elements are motivated. The traffic police personnel were shortlisted after they were nominated by the public and their track records were scrutinised.
