The Pune Municipal Corporation has finalised 34 sites near Metro stations for vehicle parking. Work has started at four locations.
The sites were identified through a joint survey by the Pune Municipal Corporation and Maha Metro. They are located across all Metro corridors, including the upcoming Hinjewadi–Shivajinagar Metro Corridor.
At present, parking facilities are available at eight stations on the Pune Metro Purple Line and the Pune Metro Aqua Line.
The civic body has also asked Maha Metro to study the feasibility of a Metro corridor connecting Wakad, Katraj and Shewalewadi for possible inclusion in the city’s Comprehensive Mobility Plan.
