Jenoptik has secured an order fr0b Australian state of New South Wales to operate systems for mobile speed monitoring for a minimum period of three years. The Australian Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) awarded the $31.6m contract to two companies, with the total order divided between the two suppliers. RMS?s new traffic safety project will increase speed monitoring in New South Wales from six to 45 mobile vehicles, delivering 7,000 enforcement hours every month. Revenue from the speed infringements will go into the Australian Community Road Safety Fund to pay for further traffic safety programmes.
