Goa government to launch app-based taxi service

Goa Tourism Development Corporation’s (GTDC) is set to launch a taxi-hailing app, ‘Goamiles’. The project is expected to bring relief to citizens and tourists looking for convenient modes of transportation. The app, which is presently in the final stages of testing, has already garnered the interest of 2,800 licensed taxi drivers. The number is expected to grow further to keep up with demand.

The launch of this app-based taxi service in Goa will revolutionise the transportation system for all stakeholders, which includes taxi drivers, tourists and locals. Citizens can download and use the app for tourism and for daily commutes as well.

The app would be a quick and convenient system that would make local taxi drivers partners in the digital system, while providing citizens and tourists great customer experience.
