Residents of Thane in Maharashtra might be soon looking at a cost-effective mode of transport. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, has approved the use of waterways for Thane. The waterways, which would enable residents to travel to Mumbai, Palghar and Navi Mumbai, would ease the traffic situation in the city. Gadkari also assured that the Thane Municipal Corporation would clear all documents required for the project within a week.
