The Delhi government has decided to extend Phase III of Delhi Metro to cover another 34km including Jamia Millia University and Faridabad. Originally meant to cover 70km, the coverage has been extended to 104 km on the suggestion of the Delhi government to include the inner and outer ring roads. Kalkaji will be one of the interchange stations. There will be two new big lines: Lines 7 and 8 while others will be extensions of existing lines. The Kalindi Kunj line will be extended till Noida Botanical Garden. With these extensions, Phase III of the Delhi Metro will cover about 70% of Delhi and neighbouring areas such as Faridabad and Noida.
