Smart Cards for Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway

The Delhi-Gurgaon Super Connectivity Ltd (DGSCL), the concessionaire for the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, has introduced touch-and-go smart cards for motorists using the expressway. The smart cards have been issued at the three toll plazas of the expressway. Two types of cards have been introduced – Smart Express and Flexi Smart. Smart Express which is valid for one month offers a discount of 50% on 40 trips in one month. No identity proof is required to buy the cards. The Flexi Smart card does not offer any discount on toll charges but has lifelong validity ? till 2023. It is available at a minimum value of ?200. DGSCL is planning to introduce the cards at petrol pumps near toll plazas for the convenience of motorists. Considering the high cost of tags, the company also plans to make available cheaper tags free-of-charge. CCTV cameras will be installed on the red line (cut off line for vehicles) drawn after 400m on both sides of the 32-lane toll plaza.
