International Road Dynamics Inc (IRD) recently installed its weigh-in-motion system WIM@Toll at toll plazas along the Tavan Tolgoi – Gashuun Sukhait toll road in Mongolia. The road is a crucial route that facilitates the development and expansion of mining in the high quality coal deposit areas of the Gobi region. The WIM@Toll system uses IRD’s Slow Speed Weigh-In-Motion (SSWIM) scales with 3M/Sirit RFID transponders and automatic vehicle identification reader systems. The system helps monitor and sort overloaded trucks from those that are in compliance with the maximum allowed GVW and thus keeps overloaded trucks off the highways.
