The Society of Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) organised safety awareness drives and driver training workshops throughout the country as a part of Road Safety 2012. Hubert Ebner India was the training partner in these programmes in North India, North East India (Agartala), Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. A Refresher Training Programme in New Delhi for executives of the Airport Authority of India, road safety awareness drives for drivers in Kolkata & Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh and week-long training workshops for drivers and students in Orissa were part of the many initiatives taken up by them. In Tripura too, a workshop for school and college students was organised. For drivers of three wheelers, a day long training workshop and another three-day training workshop were held at New Delhi. Week-long training workshops are also scheduled for drivers at Chandigarh from January 17-23.
