IIIT Hyderabad has developed a smart wearable safety system called GoldAid for workers in high-risk industrial environments. The belt-mounted device offers real-time monitoring through features such as location tracking, hazardous gas detection, fall detection, heart rate and oxygen monitoring, along with an SOS alert button. Tested at construction sites and power plants, the AI-powered system can detect fall severity with over 98% accuracy.
