‘Vahan’ to provide details of Traffic Violators

After the successful integration of ‘Vahan’ software developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) on the Yamuna Expressway, the same will be tried out with highway traffic management system (HTMS) of Noida- Greater Noida expressway too. Officials can access complete information of the traffic violator within minutes and e-challans are issued to offenders.

Traffic police are trying to link their newly launched e-challan mobile application with Vahan database, so that the e-challan generated at any of these roads can show the previous history of the violator.

Detection cameras will be set up at accident prone spots. The cameras will detect any abrupt incident on the highway, such as collisions, speeding or irregular lane movements. These will be monitored round-the-clock at the control room, which will have an in-charge and support staff.
