Chennai-Bangalore corridor on fast track

The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has decided to step up the pace of development of the Chennai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor (CBIC). DIPP and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which is one of the main sponsors of the project, have decided to appoint consultants for the project. The consultant will carry out a detailed study covering an area of 560km spreading across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, along the corridor between Chennai-Bangalore-Chitradurga. The team will prepare a comprehensive regional perspective plan for the CBIC region and develop a strategy for transforming the region into a globally competitive investment destination.
