Thales to supply Passenger Information System for Jaipur Metro

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has issued a contract to the Thales Group to supply a Passenger Information System for the Jaipur Metro. The system will interface with a rail traffic management system and use a single software to facilitate generation and distribution of real-time traffic information to passengers and service personnel. The integrated, synchronised passenger announcement system, coupled with visual passenger and time information systems will keep passengers, whether they are on platforms, in the trains or changing over to other lines in the network, up-to-date with information such as schedules and running information of the trains. The Jaipur Metro, currently under construction with eight elevated and three underground stations, is expected to be completed in 2013.
