3M installs multi-protocol reader

Ambassador Bridge, an important international bridge connecting Windsor, Ontario in Canada to Detroit, Michigan, has installed 3M’s newly introduced 3MID6204 Multiprotocal Reader. The ID6204 can read all six tolling protocols used in North America – ISO 18000-6C, ISO 18000-6B, ISO10374, CalTrans Title-21, ASTMv6 and PS111 (IAG). This ensures seamless operations with tags of any type used on customer vehicles. The ID6204 has an exclusive software controlled radio technology which enables protocols to be turned on and off remotely with a simple command. It is also able to support additional protocols through firmware updates.
